Test Procedures

Call the monitoring centre and advise them of your intent to test

• Call the monitoring centre and identify yourself.
• Tell the monitoring centre that you are about to test your alarm system, and that you will call them back upon completion of the test.

Test your alarm system

• Turn your alarm system on, just as you would if you are leaving your premises.
• Wait for the delay time to expire (usually 30-45 seconds)
• Walk through the secured area and open secured doors and windows. If your system has a siren installed  it will sound when you trip the alarm devices.
• Once you tripped all the alarms devices, wait 45 seconds and turn off your alarm system.

Confirm the result

• Call the monitoring centre identifying yourself.
• Ask the monitoring centre to verify a successful test of the alarm system by providing you with the alarm signals received.
• If the proper signals were not received, call us to schedule a service visit.
